Welcome to Kos Retreats
Kos Retreats (pronounced [ KOO-S ] ) is named for a wonderfully evocative Norwegian word, koselig, used to describe the deep feeling of warmth and joy arising from sharing the simple pleasures of life with the people close to you.
Situated in the heart of our 100-acre organic farm, our yurts offer the most luxurious and comfortable accommodations. Our focus is on providing you the very best Mother Nature has to offer whilst never being far away from the lap of luxury!
Our philosophy in operating our farm and retreat is centered on protecting and enhancing our natural ecosystems, encouraging the proliferation, but also balance, of wildlife, and making all this accessible and to be enjoyed by others. However, we are also working to ensure the farm is productive and operates as a sustainable business. We currently focus primarily on producing organic hay for the local horse farms as well as maintaining a small flock of chickens.
Although we are only 90 minutes from New York City, it feels a world away. We are also only 15 minutes from New Paltz, NY, with its wonderful selection of shops and restaurants, and mere minutes away from the Shawngunk Mountains, better known as the Gunks, home of world class rock climbing and the 8,000-acre Mohonk Preserve with its numerous hiking trails, Minnewaska State Park, as well as one of the largest skydiving centers on the East coast. If you are looking something a little more relaxed, we have numerous wineries, distilleries, and orchards in the vicinity.
Contact Please feel free to reach out at any time to discuss our farm or retreat. We can be reached on (845) 895 9932 or at info@kosretreats.com. Our address is: Frogs' Hollow Farm, 213 Burnt Meadow Road, Gardiner, NY 12525

I have stayed in yurts before but never one replete with such comfort and amenities. Mia and John get all the details right from a single switch for all lighting to a stylish bathroom and prepped fire pit. The bed is comfortable. The heat kept us warm in the middle of the night. And I loved drinking early morning coffee from the deck while staring out at clouds passing over the Shawangunks.
